New Housing Real Estate Development Approved in Boston MA

This month the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s Board of Directors approved an astounding 8 new development projects which will give the city 1,415 units of new housing upon completion. One project involves a massive 656 unit complex that will transform an industrial area of South Boston into a beautiful residential community.

Together these 9 projects will collectively create an investment of $950 million dollars into Boston’s economy, and they will create in estimated 1,400 construction jobs in the process. Below you will see the 8 projects that are planned:

Washington Village in South Boston

Total Project Cost: $400,000,000

Construction Jobs: 635

Trinity Financial partners set to redevelop Orient Heights

Total Project Cost: $186,000,000

Construction Jobs: 315

South Boston’s Waterfront restaurants will be transformed with new housing, retail, and public space being built

Total Project Cost: $260,000,000

Construction Jobs: 275

Third phase of Jackson Square project on Amory Street approved

Total Project Cost: $62,600,000

Construction Jobs: 113

New housing development coming to Washington Street in Jamaica Plain

Total Project Cost: $13,000,000

Green-light for mixed-use development near Broadway Station

Total Project Cost: $10,000,000

Redevelopment of two vacant parcels in South Boston

These new buildings will create much needed inventory in apartments for rent and condos for sale in and around the Boston area, and it’s another sign that the housing market is continuing to flourish in the Greater Boston area.
