Groveland is divided by the Merrimack River, with Route 97 crossing the town and carrying traffic between its residential areas, schools, local businesses, and neighboring commercial centers. Much of the everyday activity is centered around Main Street and the surrounding roads, while larger shopping, dining, and employment options are available within a short drive. Outdoor space is easy to find throughout town. Veasey Memorial Park covers roughly 48 acres with trails and open fields, Meadow Pond Reservation adds another large conservation area, and the Groveland Community Trail runs for more than three miles through several residential neighborhoods. The town also includes portions of the Parker River Wildlife Management Area and protected land along the Merrimack River. Parks such as the Pines Recreation Area and Washington Park provide fields, playgrounds, and other facilities closer to the developed parts of town.
