Downtown Hudson follows Main Street and the Assabet River, with restaurants, shops, municipal buildings, and the public library concentrated around the central rotary. Routes 62 and 85 meet here, while I-495 is accessible from the western side of town and connects Hudson with the wider MetroWest road network. Commercial development also extends south along Route 85, giving residents additional shopping and services outside downtown. The Assabet River Rail Trail passes directly through Hudson, and the town maintains other outdoor areas including Danforth Falls Conservation Land, Gates Pond, and Lamson Park at Tripps Pond. Older neighborhoods surround the center, with newer residential development found farther from Main Street. Hudson’s active downtown and riverfront give the town a focal point that many suburban communities in this part of Massachusetts do not have.
