Suffolk Law School

Suffolk Law School is one of the leading law schools in the United States. When applying to Suffolk Law School, there are some important dates and requirements to keep in mind. April 1^st is the deadline for incoming students who want to start in May or August. Transfer students from other law schools, even those applying to be a first-year student, must submit transcripts from the previous law school. The dean of the previous school must also provide a Letter of Good Standing. Suffolk University does not have a wait-list.

Division of Student Affairs

The Division of Student Affairs is there to support the physical and emotional well-being of freshman, returning students, graduate students, and new students. Their goal is to ensure that each student reaches his or her potential and is able to traverse all the complexities of campus life. Advisors are available to help throughout the academic year. Student Center and Lounges

This common area is located on the second, third, and fourth floors of the Sawyer building. It provides meeting spaces, snack machines, club and organization offices, lounges, TV and gaming areas, a pool table, and a ping-pong table.

The Student Lounge is on the second floor of the Sawyer building. It has the campus radio station, a meeting room, a café, large screen TVs, and student club offices. The Commuter Lounge is on the first floor of the 73 Tremont building. The 73 Lounge is located on the ninth floor of 73 Tremont and is a place set aside for quiet studying or relaxing.

General Information on Residence Halls

Suffolk University dorms are in the midst of Boston’s never ending activities. Campus housing includes college dormitories and student apartments. When you live in this student housing, you are in residences that many people in Boston would love to have. You will be a stone’s throw away from shops, theaters, public transit, and restaurants.

Resident assistants live in all housing for students. The RAs are returning students who are carefully trained and selected. Each residence hall will also have a Suffolk University residence director.

University housing is guaranteed to incoming freshmen and returning sophomores. All dormitory and apartment bedrooms are fully furnished with beds, desks, closets, and drawers. Wireless internet and satellite television are in each room. If you have any questions concerning housing and residence when you apply for housing or during semesters, you can speak with someone at the Department of Residence Life and Housing. Meal plans are available to students who live on campus and students who live off campus.

Upperclassmen are assigned to a single room that has a private bathroom. Room selection is done through the office of Residence Life and Housing Services.

10 West Street

This building is located in Downtown Boston. Housing assignments here place you 0.2 miles from Boston Common, 0.4 miles from Chinatown, and 0.5 miles from the Boston Public Garden. Searches for a washer and dryer are not necessary; laundry facilities are right there.

Their suites house three to six students and have two to four bedrooms. Bathrooms in suites are shared. Even though there is no living room, the suites do have a common living area.

The furnished apartments house two to eight students. The full kitchen includes table, chairs, refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Many of these apartments have baths with bathtubs. Roommates have to share a bathroom.

Semi-private apartments house three or four students and have double room or single-room bedroom accommodations.

Studio apartments have a large, open living-space with beds, living room furniture, and a kitchen.

Duplexes are not common housing options in a city as large as Boston. However, Suffolk University has some! Four to eight students can live in these two-story apartments. The first-floor contains a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. There are one or two bedrooms on the second floor.

Smith Hall

This traditional style dorm on Tremont Street faces the Boston Common. The dormitory is coed but the suites are single-sex. These suites are not equipped with kitchens. If you are a freshman beginning classes in the fall semester, you have a 40% to 50% chance of the housing office assigning you to Smith Hall.

Nathan R. Miller Hall

Amenities in this residence hall include an exercise room and a laundry room. Most rooms are part of a suite. There are also double, triple, and quad bedrooms.

The Modern Theatre Residence Hall

This historic building opened in 1914 and was Boston’s first specifically designed venue for movies. In 2010, Suffolk University renovated the building to include student residences. The accommodations include suites and double and triple bedrooms.
