This is the performing arts destination in Roxbury. The ballroom is also a venue for community programs of theater, dance, music, and film. The Youth Book Workshop encourages children to both read and tell their own stories.

Take a tour of the distillery and learn about the history of Boston’s distilling traditions. Their rotating menu of seasonal cocktails lets you sample a variety of spirits while you enjoy the pinball parlor, lounge, and barrel room.
The Shaw-Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library
All ages can enjoy the many offerings that focus on a wide range of topics. Explore your creativity with a writing workshop and a makerspace. Green Space
Franklin Park
Home to Franklin Park Zoo, this 485-acre park is the largest in Boston. Frederick Law Olmsted designed this magnificent landscape located in the center of the city. Much loved by residents and visitors alike, it could easily be called the heart of Boston. When you are there, it’s easy to forget that you are in a bustling city. There are miles of trails, historical sites, picnic tables, playgrounds, playing fields, and wildlife habitats.
Horatio Harris Park
Though not a large park, it offers a respite from a busy day. The rock formations are fun to climb, and the grassy areas are perfect for a relaxing game or picnic. The large, stately trees are not only beautiful but provide plenty of shade.
Roxbury Heritage Park
One of the oldest structures in Roxbury, the Dillaway-Thomas House, is located here. Now a museum, it served as headquarters for the Continental Army during the Siege of Boston in 1775. Wander the beautifully landscaped grounds that provide an exceptional view of the Boston Skyline.

Transportation

The Orange Line skirts the western edge of Roxbury with 3 stations: Massachusetts Avenue, Ruggles – which also provides access to the MBTA Commuter Rail Franklin/Foxboro Line, and Roxbury Crossing.
