Food and Wine named the chef/owner of MIDA as one of the top 10 Best New Chefs in the U.S. in 2020. And the residents of South End are fortunate to have him right in their neighborhood. Their pasta dishes such as mushroom pappardelle are amazing and gluten free pasta is available on request.
Toro Boston
The owner/chef is a James Beard Award winner, and you will understand why when you try the tapas at Toro. They have both meat and fish tapas that are delicious, but make sure you leave room for the flan de queso.

Green Spaces
Peter’s Park
This lovely urban oasis covers five acres and is noted for being one of the most dog-friendly places in the South End. The Joe Wex Dog Recreation Space is set aside for our furry friends and has the distinction of being the first dog run authorized by the city. There are also many fun places for humans such as a tennis court, baseball field, basketball courts, and handball courts.
Titus Sparrow Park
Titus Sparrow Park was named for the first African-American in the U.S. Tennis Association. There are spaces for baseball, tennis, basketball, and a playground.
Harrison Urban Garden
This verdant green space is a welcoming spot for the neighborhood. It contains a geodesic dome, an orchard, a pumpkin patch, and a picnic area.
Franklin and Blackstone Squares
These two squares are next to each other and provide homes to sugar maples, linden, and white oaks. Residents stop here to enjoy the soothing sounds of the beautiful circular fountains.
