South Station Boston Renovations Planned

The groundwork has been set for major renovations on three of Boston’s largest transportation hubs. The three stops that will be reconstructed are North Station, South Station, and Back Bay station. The proposed mixed-use projects will bring a mix of residential units and commercial space available for sale and rent.

At North Station, work has already begun to transform the old site of the Boston Garden, currently TD Garden. The Hub on Causeway will be home to 1.5 million square feet of residential and commercial space connecting North Station and TD Garden to nearby Causeway Street. Plans include a 487 foot residential tower, 487 foot office building, and a 260 room hotel.

At South Station, two real estate development firms have submitted plans for a mammoth 2.5 million square foot development that includes a 667 foot tower offering a mix of office space and condos for sale, a 334 foot tower, and another 9 story office building. They are currently working with the Redevelopment Authority to finalize their plans.

Earlier this year, developers released a rendering of a gorgeous three tower project planned for South Bay Station. The project will include 1.26 million square feet of mixed use property. The towers will be 26, 28, and 34 stories high, providing a beautiful addition to Boston’s skyline.

These renovations and development projects mark another fantastic year for the Boston Real Estate market, with plenty of more exciting projects coming down the pipeline.
